All programs with an asterisk (*) require registration.

Youth Winter/Spring programs start the week of January 20, 2014 and will end the week of April 28, 2014.

There will be a special Motherís Day craft Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1PM.

Youth Story Times Lapsit Story Time *
Tuesday @ 10AM Ages 1-3
& Thursday @ 11AM Ages 1-3
 Parents, bring your Tots to this program for short picture books, music, games, and simple crafts. This is a fantastic opportunity for toddlers to interact with children their own age.

Junior Explorers Story Time *
Tuesday @ 4PM Ages 4-6
This story time includes song and dance, games,
crafts, and 20-30 minutes of longer, more developed picture books. This is a great group for children to meet and interact with others their own age.

Pajama Story Time*
Wednesday @ 7PM All Ages (with caregiver)
Come to our late night story time in some comfy pajamas. Join us for music, games, a simple craft, and 20-30 minutes of longer, more developed picture book stories.

Youth Crafts

Rainbow Loom Day
2nd-to-last Friday of every month @ 4PM Ages: 8+
Join your friends in the coolest craft this year-Rainbow Loom! Learn different ways to make new and difficult bracelets for all your friends and family. Donít forget to bring your loom kits!

Valentineís Day Craft*

Celebrate the holiday of love by making a heart-shaped yarn basket.

Youth and Adult Crafts

Crochet Club*
Monday @ 7PM Age: 4th grade and up
Join the Lyons Public Library Crochet Club. Crochet with fellow novices and experts alike. All levels welcome! Yarn and hooks will be provided. Beginners will be making a scarf for their first project.

Youth Reading Clubs

Teen Reading Club*
Monday @ 4PM Ages 12-18
Read the latest and greatest YA fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and manga! Delve into your favorite books with discussions from tween and teens like yourself, and even be a part of selecting books that we will read as a group.

Reading Team*
Wednesday @ 4PM Grades 1-3
This group is for students in grades 1-3 who are interested in reading, pronunciation, and comprehension practice. We, as a group, read a variety of stories and simple chapter books. After reading, we take a break for puzzles and games.

Book Lovers Club*
Thursday @ 4PM Grades 4-6
Join this friendly and fun book club. In this group, we read picture books, short stories, and fiction and non-fiction chapter books. We finish each meeting with a craft or game.

District 103 and District 201 Textbooks The Library has copies of textbooks used by students at all Lyons Elementary District 103 schools and at Morton West High School. These collections are for in-house use only and may not be checked out. To use the collections, a student must present a school issued photo ID or library card, which will be held by Library Staff until the books are returned. Unfortunately, student workbooks are not part of the collection.
