The Lyons Public Library issues library cards to residents of Lyons provided the resident is free of outstanding fines and/or fees within the RAILS Library System. Lyons Public Library cards are good at over seventy-five libraries within the RAILS Library System.
A patron must present his/her library card each time he/she wishes to check out library materials.
Should a resident’s library card be lost or stolen, it is the cardholder’s responsibility to notify the Lyons Public Library immediately.
To obtain a new Lyons Public Library card:
- Bring one piece of picture identification (driver’s license or state ID) and a current utility bill to the library. Both items must show your Lyons address.
- Complete a registration card.
The Lyons Public Library will issue a Juvenile library card to any person 17 or younger and able to write his or her own name. A parent or guardian must sign the juvenile’s application, thus accepting financial responsibility for all borrowed materials. Legal guardians must provide proof of guardianship.
